# CMDB-Compleet.nl > CMDB inventory service that completes your IT administration so the lifecycle management platform works from day one. A live CMDB score shows how far along you are. ## What is CMDB-Compleet? CMDB-Compleet is the inventory service that comes with the Afterservice lifecycle management platform. Audience: IT managers, CTOs and heads of IT at organisations with 100 to 5,000 employees in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is an onboarding service for new Afterservice customers, not sold standalone. The promise: do not wait until your IT administration is in order before you start with lifecycle management. The score in the platform shows in real time how far along you are. ## How it works (three steps) The work runs in parallel with the platform itself, not before it: 1. **Desk research in existing systems** — Excel lists from previous inventories, AD dumps, exports from Intune or Jamf, an ITSM report, purchase invoices from AFAS. We combine what you already have into one picture. No API integration needed. That alone often brings you to seventy percent. 2. **Employee survey where it is needed** — short question by email or Teams for the gaps that automated sources leave open. One click, done. 3. **Physical inspection when it is needed** — for devices without an owner in storage rooms, classrooms or forgotten corners. Often not necessary. You do not need to do all three. What you need depends on where you stand and how far back you want to go. ## The CMDB score (core product hook) The score is rule-based, not completeness-based. It comes from the device-policy module in the Afterservice platform. You set rules per policy group: - **Quantity rules** — for example "everyone has one laptop and one phone, maximum three devices" - **Lifespan rules** — for example "laptops at most four years, phones at most five" Employees fall into policy groups (Administrative staff, Management, Field engineers, Onboarding employee, etc.). The score = percentage of employees compliant with their rules, per group and across the business. Dashboard shows: - Totals: employees, comply, violations, compliance percentage - Compliance per policy group with progress bars (green from 90 percent, orange below) - Violations by rule type (Quantity violation, Lifespan exceeded) - Exceptions list with individual employees, their policy group and how many rules they break The score often goes down before it goes up. As CMDB-Compleet finds more devices the picture becomes sharper. It is not getting worse; you are seeing for the first time what is actually there. ## CMDB shame A name for the recurring pattern where IT managers postpone lifecycle management because their administration is out of date. It works against you: waiting until the CMDB is in order solves nothing, because without lifecycle management the chaos keeps growing. But you do not have to wait for it before you start. The platform is running while we enrich. ### What data do you use? What you already have lying around. Excel lists, AD/Entra ID exports, Intune or Jamf reports, ITSM data from Topdesk or ServiceNow, purchase invoices. Anything else can usually be combined too. ### How much work does this cost my team? Most of the work we do in your existing systems. Only where gaps remain do we ask employees briefly via email or Teams. One click, done. ### What happens to the score after the project? It stays. It becomes part of your daily dashboard and keeps moving as your lifecycle processes run. ### Can I take CMDB-Compleet on its own, without the platform?
